October 12,13,19,20,26,27 Jean Lafitte's Haunted Tour
Billed as kid friendly ( which is why we're including this cool new haunted tour) its recommended that kids be at least 6 - although use your own judgement on how brave your child is! . It runs Every Friday and Saturday in October you'll find plenty of thrills, a live DJ nightly, and costumes welcome. its a haunted swamp tour! Gates open at 7, Boats run from dark to midnight. $25 adults, $12 kids. Call 504.689.4186 for reservations.
October 19, 20, 26, 27 Boo at the Zoo
Bring your little ghosts and goblins to this annual zoo extravaganza featuring games, trick-or-treating, a haunted house, the Zoo’s Ghost Train and more! $17 per person. Children under 12 months are free. The Boo at the Zoo is a fundraiser for Children's Hospital and Audubon Zoo. Audubon Zoo (5 – 9 pm)
October 19 & 20 Ghosts in the Oaks
This family-friendly Halloween event offers fun for the whole family including unlimited rides in Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, trick-or-treating in Storyland, arts and crafts, face-painting, live music and much more. Early admission begins at 6 pm and gates open at 7 pm. Early admission is offered at $20/person and general admission is offered at $15/person; $12/person for Friends of City Park members. Children under 36 months are admitted free of charge. Tickets will be sold for either October 19 or October 20 and will be honored only for the night purchased. October 20 West Jeff Family Festival
Corner of S. Claiborne Ave and Octavia St.
Admission for games and activities 10am to 4pm: $5 first child, $3 for siblings
Admission price includes:Bounce House, Face Painting, Games
*Pony Rides starting at 10, length of time is at the discretion of the trainer, may not last all day
Admission to pumpkin patch only: free
Pumpkins are available for purchase, daily M-F 3pm to 7pm, Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 1pm-7pm
Food and drinks will also be available for purchase during Family Fun Day.
- Rowdy’s Rascals Petting Zoo—all day at the Dutch Alley Pavilion.
- Delfeayo Marsalis’s Uptown Theatre performs SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK at 1 p.m. inside the Jazz National Historical Park, Dutch Alley.
- Free Trick or treating—all day, while supplies last. Kids in costume get a trick or treat bag and list of participating “treaters” to visit throughout 6 blocks. Pick up bags at Dumaine and Decatur Streets, Dutch Alley.
- Buy a pumpkin in the Farmers Market and decorate your pumpkin for free!
- Sign up for costume contests at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and our 1st annual SWEET POTATO PIE EATING CONTEST at 2 p.m.
- Join a drumming and dancing circle from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with Hopestone Kids in Dutch Alley.
- Make cool stuff to take home and wear: Halloween masks, scarves, and necklaces.
- Step into a stiltwalking procession through the District with kids from The International School of Louisiana’s Circus Arts Program at 4 p.m.! Join the procession and get a free pumpkin mask!
- Enjoy live music by Abita Springs Opry 4-6 p.m. at the Farmers Market stage.
- Take pictures in Dutch Alley with special Halloween character cut-outs—and hay bales!
October 23 – 27 Spooky Week
October 26 Halloween Fest
St. Pius X School, 6600 Spanish Fort Blvd.
Activities will include a not-so-haunted hay ride, family games, and food, plus a haunted house in the Msgr. Screen Gym from 6:30 - 9 pm Prices vary by activity. Call 504.282.2811 for more info. 6 - 10 pm)

The age categories will be:
0-6yrs
7-12yrs
13-17yrs
18 and over
Judges will consider scariness, cuteness, and creativity to select overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age category. All participants will receive treats just for entering. 5:30pm Casper the Friendly Ghost animated cartoons upstairs in the fellowship hall. $2 donation per person to cover for hot dogs, snacks and drinks during the show.
noon- Celebrity judges will pick the scariest and most creative pumpkins.
October 28 Museum Mashfrom 11 AM – 5 PM, St. Paul’s will have family fun for everyone at Fall Fest. Activities include: petting zoo, miniature golf, inflatables, children's craft tent, food, old-fashion games, flag football, and more! We will also have a pumpkin decorating contest and a pie eating contest! Admission is free. $10 play all day bands and food and drinks available for purchase.
